WhatTheHack
Hackathon community
A hackathon format bringing young developers and makers together. We support with time, knowledge and, where it fits, money.
Work
No logo wall. Our starting point, a live build-up, and the events we back. Told the way we'd tell a friend.
Starting point · Our first major engagement
YourPower is where Tribu became visible. The first major mandate, the reason we chose this form at all. Disclosure: Marco and Wolf are still employed by YourPower. Part of that salary funds the early build-up of Tribu. We think that belongs in the open, not in a footnote.
Situation
YourPower has been the Swiss market leader for reality training in violence prevention since 2003. More than 150,000 people from banks, cash-in-transit, public transport and the private sphere have attended their training. The IT had grown along the way, but not always kept pace. Much of it was held together by workarounds.
Approach
We sat down with the team and rebuilt the IT infrastructure from the ground up. No patch-job, but a clean restart that respects the training operation and the people behind it. Iterative, in two-week cycles, with ongoing alignment.
Result
Day-to-day runs noticeably smoother. The numbers say the same.
Work efficiency in the operations team
Growth in the strongest year since founding

Live build-up
Situation
Pferdehof Brenz is a young business offering services around horses and the yard, and, alongside that, setting up an online shop for its own and curated products. It starts where many service businesses start: a lot of knowledge in the founders' heads, little of it in systems.
Approach
We're building two things in parallel and locked together: a lean web shop designed from day one for assortment, logistics and customer communication, and a management setup that pulls bookkeeping, customer and product data, scheduling and day-to-day operations into one architecture that holds. Start small, scale cleanly.
Status
Project under way. A full case study will follow once the first operating phase is complete and legible in numbers.
Assortment, checkout, shipping, returns. Set up lean so it can grow.
Bookkeeping, customer and product data, scheduling. One system, not seven spreadsheets.
A data model and processes that still work in year three, without patches.
Commitment
Consulting isn't the only thing we put time and money into. We support smaller events where up-and-coming people in tech and services actually get building. Two examples.

Hackathon for women in tech
A hackathon initiative for women in tech. We support it because diversity in technology doesn't happen on its own.
